About Allan

Hi my name is Allan Wilson, I ran my own off-line business of the last 5 years and made a low to moderate income. Unfortunately after travelling expenses and accountant fees there was not enough profits to employ staff to grow the business, and last year I became disillusioned because I could see no way to overcome this problem. I had gained more customers, and I was working twice as hard, but I had no time to stand back and really understand where I was going. I was finding I had no free time for friends and family. I needed to look at a better business model.

I had studied internet marketing back in 2003 with an Internet Marketing Center mentor and although I never made a dime I had at least some technical skill. In June this year I decided to go for IM full time. I had a company set up in the UK called Information Marketing Centre Ltd from back then so I decided to restart it again this year. As I started to get involved with internet marketing I realised, as expected I suppose, it had changed so much from 2003. I decided to get up to speed and have certainly learnt much since June, I had lots of curiosity, but no plan. I never made a penny. Two months ago I knew it was time to get focused and stick with one approach to internet marketing which was to do it properly by constructing a list building site around a niche topic by giving away something of real value. The problem I found was I didn’t have a niche and certainly didn’t have a great product to give away and how would I get hot targeted traffic to the site?

Fortunately I was still on most of the older Gurus mailing lists from back in 2003 so it didn’t take long to find the new guys on the block and join their lists. Somewhere in all this I joined Alex Jeffreys list back in November I think.
